The Cedar Lake Police Department, in conjunction with the Cedar Lake Chamber of Commerce and St. Michael the Archangel National Catholic Church, and District One Task force will host a Public Awareness Program on how to deal with Armed Confrontation and an Active Shooter scenario. The program will be held at 7p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2019 in the Social Room at St.
Michaels Church, 6629 W. 133rd Ave. CL.

Cedar Lake Police Chief David Coulson said Lori Postma and Gary McKay with
the Indiana Department of Homeland Security District 1 Team will give relevant
information about this important issue. Included in this topic – Actions to take when confronted by an active shooter and to assist responding law enforcement; Recognize potential workplace violence indicators; Actions to take to prevent and prepare for potential active shooter incidents.
